Behind the album
Korean Cooking (the sound of the kitchen) starts with the small changes in pace that happen while making a meal: gathering ingredients, finding a rhythm, then finally sitting down. Gayageum and haegeum colours meet soft percussion and acoustic textures in an instrumental sequence designed to move with that process.
We wanted the music to make sense away from the stove as well. It can sit under a cooking video, accompany dinner or stay on while the kitchen is being cleared. The album is inspired by those everyday moments, not presented as a survey of Korean music.
